Working Principle Feulgen DNA Stain Kit is a histological staining method used to specifically stain DNA. This method is used to examine the amount and distribution of DNA in the cell nucleus. Feulgen staining targets the aldehyde groups of nucleic acids, making DNA more visible and thus providing information about the cellular and tissue distribution of DNA. The Feulgen reaction is based on the principle of converting the deoxyribose sugar in DNA into aldehyde groups. This conversion is carried out by hydrolysis and then reacts with the Schiff reagent. The Schiff reagent combines with the aldehyde groups to form a purple or reddish-purple color.
