Purpose |
Used with immersion objective in microscopic studies. |
Ingredients |
Immersion Oil |
Working Principle |
Immersion oil fills the space between the lenses, allowing light to pass through more evenly, which allows more detail to be seen and higher resolution images to be obtained. This also reduces reflections from lenses in contact with air, resulting in clearer images. |

Application
|
Preparation 1:
a. Place the microscope on a flat and stable surface.
b. Place the specimen to be examined on the slide and carefully place the coverslip over it.
2. Lens Selection:
a. Select the objective you will use for immersion oil. Usually 100x magnification objectives require immersion oil.
b. Find and focus your sample on the microscope with a 10x or 40x objective.
3. Applying the Oil:
a. Change the objective to a 100x immersion objective.
b. Place a drop of immersion oil on the area to be examined on the slide.
4. Focusing:
a. Carefully lower the microscope tube so that the immersion oil comes into contact with the objective.
b. Focus with the fine adjustment knob until you have a clear image.
5. Inspection:
a. Make the necessary examinations and observations.
b. Immersion oil will improve image quality by making the light less refractive.
6. Cleaning:
a. Clean the immersion oil off the objective after the examination is finished.
b. Carefully wipe the lens using lens cleaning paper or a soft cloth.
c. You can use lens cleaning solution to clean the objective. |
