Purpose
Formalin–NaCl Fixative is a formaldehyde-based fixative solution used for routine tissue fixation in histology laboratories.
Ingredients
Formaldehyde, Sodium chloride, Ethanol 96%, Acetic acid
Working Principle
The sodium chloride (NaCl) in its composition contributes to better preservation of tissue morphology by regulating the ionic strength and osmotic balance of the solution. It is used in routine histopathological examinations, biopsy materials, and experimental tissue studies, particularly where preservation of the overall tissue architecture is important. It ensures that the structure of cells and tissues is stabilized in a manner suitable for microscopic examination.
