2008-Zinc Formalin Fixative (Without Tampons)
Title
Description
REF No
2008
Purpose
Zinc Formalin Fixative (without tampon) is a special fixative solution containing formaldehyde and zinc salts, developed for tissue fixation in histology and immunohistochemistry applications. It is preferred for studies requiring antigen preservation, biopsy materials, and research-purpose tissue analysis.
Ingredients
Zinc sulfate, Formaldehyde
Working Principle
The presence of zinc ions may contribute to better preservation of certain tissue antigens compared to classical formalin, thereby helping to obtain stronger and clearer signals in immunohistochemical staining. It can also be used in routine histopathology studies to preserve tissue morphology. The zinc salts in the solution interact with proteins and cellular components to provide additional stabilization and may contribute to some antigenic structures being less affected by formalin's excessive cross-linking effect. This property can provide better antigen preservation and stainability in tissue sections, particularly in immunohistochemical analyses. The buffer-free formulation is preferred when pH adjustment is not required in certain protocols.
Warnings, Precautions, Recommendations
