Purpose Designed for Ziehl-Neelsen acid-fast staining method. Bacteria metachromatic materials staining method.
Ingredients Methylene blue, ethanol, surfactant, stabilisers and preservatives.
Working Principle
Warnings, Precautions, Recommendations Hazard Highly flammable liquid and vapor.
Causes severe eye irritation Keep away from heat/sparks/flame/hot surfaces - No smoking.
Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.
IF IN CONTACT WITH SKIN (or hair) : Immediately remove all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. IN EYE CONTACT: Rinse carefully with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if worn and easy to do so. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
Store in a well ventilated area. Keep cold.
Application -The smear is stained with Carbol Fuchsin Stain (GBL-2423) by heating from the bottom for 5 minutes.
-Cooled. Wash with distilled water for 5-10 seconds.
-Cover the smear with Acid Alcohol (GBL-2426) for 5-30 seconds.
-Gently washed very briefly with distilled water.
-The slide is stained with Methylene Blue Alkali Stain, Löffler (GBL-2420) for 1-2 minutes.
-Wash gently with distilled water. Air dried. Examined.
