2111-Slow Decalcification Solution; With Formic Acid
Title
Description
REF No
2111
Purpose
Slow Decalcification Solution; It is a chemical product containing Formic Acid, used to soften and remove calcium from hard tissues such as bones and teeth.
Ingredients
Formic acid
Working Principle
Formic acid provides an acidic environment, allowing calcium salts to dissolve and be removed from the tissue. This method preserves tissue morphology and cellular structure, making it suitable for histological and microscopic examinations. Formic acid is a strong organic acid and works by dissolving calcium salts. The acidic environment dissolves mineral salts such as calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate, removing them from bone and tooth tissue. The slow decalcification process helps preserve tissue structure, which is important for detailed microscopic examinations.
