REF No |
2406 |
Purpose |
It is used in the examination and counting of reticulocytes by light microscopy. |
Ingredients |
New methylene blue, Potassium oxalate, Sodium chloride, Azure A, Sodium citrate, Preservative |
Working Principle |
The new methylene blue binds to reticulocyte cell membranes, enabling cell detection. In addition to staining and counting reticulocytes, it also enables the study of cell morphology and structure. This enables information about the developmental processes and maturation stages of blood cells. |

Application
|
1Samples and Preparation:
Devices, tools and equipment required for staining: Light microscope, immersion objective or cover staining unit, pipette, blue pipette tip, 250-1000 µl automatic pipette, tube, tube spore, slide drying apparatus, laboratory clock, stopwatch, absorbent paper, slides, immersion oil (GBL-2305) and GBL® Reticulocyte Stain (GBL-2406).
Sample and preparation: Peripheral or venous blood. Various defibrination agents can be used.
Staining method: Staining by mixing in the tube.
10 drops = 0.5 ml; 5 drops = 0.25 ml.
2. Application of Staining Method:
Put 10 drops (0.5 ml) of “Reticulocyte Stain” (GBL-2406) in a small test tube.
Add 3 drops of blood on it. Mix. Let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Spread on a slide.
Dry in air. Examine under a microscope. |
